During [[Punjab insurgency]], [[Khalistan movement]] extremists kidnapped Nidhan Singh Gudhan. He was tortured as the extremists were trying to investigate the secrets of [[Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist)]] and about their revolutionary paper "Surkh Rekha".
