Neeraj hails from Khawaja Nangla, a small Village in [[Chhaprauli]] Block of [[Bagpat district|Baghpat District]] in [[Uttar Pradesh]].<ref name=":0" /> He is 189 cm tall and usually rows the first seat. He started rowing at the age of 13.
