==Economy==&lt;br /&gt;
It is in the heart of the coal mining zone.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;Chattopadhyay, Akkori, p 666&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; Neamatpur Central Workshop of Eastern Coalfield Ltd situated at Lithuria Road, Neamatpur. Some people in Neamatpur are also engaged with work in the Railways. Neamatpur does not have a police station though there is an Investigation Centre present. Neamatpur comes under Kulti Police station. Today Neamatpur is a busy trading hub due to Asansol being a bordering city of Bengal and Jharkhand.&lt;br /&gt;

Moulana Abdur Rashid was an Imam of Neamatpur Jama Masjid, and teacher of Belrui N.G. High School. Although his birth was in Dhaka (Bangladesh) but he came as an immigrant to Neamatpur and settled here. His essays are unforgettable for the spread of education in this area. After his death on 18 February 1979, his name was associated with the establishment of a school (Moulana Abdur Rashid Primary School), initiated in 1989.&lt;br /&gt;

History of Coal Mining and Neamatpur police:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Neamatpur Investigation Center is one of the oldest Investigation Centre in Bardhaman District.1837 when Bankura district was formed, the Asansol-Ranigunj area was part of Bankura district. In 1847, Ranigunj subdivision was formed with three police stations –Ranigunj, Kanksa and Neamatpur and it was made a part of Bardhaman district. In 1906 the subdivisional headquarters was shifted to Asansol and the subdivision renamed accordingly. In 1910, the police stations in Asansol subdivision were Asansol, Ranigunj, Kanksa, Faridpur and Barakar. In 2006, Asansol subdivision has the following police stations: Chittaranjan, Salanpur, Barabani, Asansol (North), Asansol (South), Ranigunj, Jamuria, Hirapur and Kulti. In 1968, Durgapur subdivision was carved out of Asansol subdivision.&lt;br /&gt;
The early mines were Sundarchak and Barademo. Coal in India was first discovered around Neamatpur. And one of the deepest coal mines Chinakuri 1/2, it is about 1.5 sq. K.m in area situated at the bank of damodar river&lt;br /&gt;

Narain Dangal Rashtriya Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School, the Belrui N.G. Institution and Jaladhi Kumari Devi Uchcha Balika Bidyalaya are the three most renowned schools in and around Neamatpur. These three schools have produced many board exam Toppers in the Asansol region. The Nearest English Medium Schools are [[St. Patrick&amp;#039;s Higher Secondary School]], [[St. Vincent&amp;#039;s High and Technical School]], [[Loreto Convent, Asansol]] and The Assembly of God Church School, Sodepur. There is also Priyadarshini Public School nearby to Neamatpur. Narain Dangal Rashtriya Vidhyalaya Higher Secondary School present in Sitarampur is a renowned Hindi Medium school on the area. There is also an Urdu Medium School for girls &amp;quot;Islamia Girls Junior High School&amp;quot; is at Islamia School road, near Jama Masjid in Neamatpur (East).&lt;br /&gt;

Road connectivity to Neamatpur is provided by the [[Grand Trunk Road]]. Which is Called Lifeline of Neamatpur, One can go to [[Kolkata]], [[Durgapur, West Bengal|Durgapur]] and [[Dhanbad]] easily, travelling by the Grand Trunk Road. One can also go to [[Purulia]] via [[Dishergarh]] and to [[Chittaranjan]] through the State Highway to Purulia and the Chittaranjan Road respectively.&lt;br /&gt;

Regular minibus services are available from Asansol City Bus Terminus, Barakar, Chittaranjan and Dishergarh. All the minibuses stop at Neamatpur. Some Express and Long Distance Government Buses also provide a stoppage at Neamatpur. Inter-state superfast buses plying to [[Dhanbad]], [[Bokaro Steel City]], [[Ranchi]], [[Jamshedpur]], [[Giridih]] and [[Madhupur, Deoghar|Madhupur]] also stop at Neamatpur. The nearest Railway Station is the [[Sitarampur]] Junction. The Howrah-Delhi rail track separates into the Main and Grand Chord lines at Sitarampur and rejoins at Mughalsarai. Hence many important trains on the [[Howrah]] - [[Delhi]] passes through and have stoppages at Sitarampur.&lt;br /&gt;

A wide two-way highway has been built connecting G.T. Road Neamatpur to IISCO Burnpur and in near future{{when|date=June 2019}} it should be extended to NH2.
