== Political career ==
Nazir Ahmed was first elected to the [[Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly]] in 1974 on the [[Bharatiya Kranti Dal]] ticket. During his student life, he was the secretary of the debating society and the president of the Meerut College Association.
