The '''Nayani''' is one of the clans in [[South Asia]], like [[Panjwani]], Rajani and Virani, that originated in Indian [[Gujarat]] hundreds of years ago. The name refers to the south warrior Kamma Community. In the 18th and 19th centuries, religious conversions took place, primarily to [[Ismaili]], one of the [[Shia]] [[Fiqh]] of [[Islam]]. After 1947, many of the Muslim Nayanis migrated to [[Pakistan]]. Today many Nayanis live in [[Karachi]], [[Sindh]], Pakistan.

In the village of Dared in [[Bhavnagar]], Gujarat, India some 70% of the people are called 'Nayani'{{Citation needed|date=July 2011}}.

There is a suggestion that the names 'Dayani' and 'Nayani' are from the same root{{Citation needed|date=July 2011}}.

Nayanis also live in Tanzania, East Africa and London, England.
