NAMTA stands for North American Manipur Tribal Association. NAMTA join hands with Bay Area Activists to raise awareness of [[2023 Manipur violence]] in the northeastern state of India. The protest was held on July 30 at Fremont, [[California]] in presence of renowned human rights activist like Pieter Friedrich and Shan Sankaran. The group also wrote letters to President Joe Biden, asking him to raise the issue to Indian Prime Minister [[Narendra Modi]] during his state visit at the end of June.
