The treaties signed </ins>under <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">the aegis of Sir John Malcolm, the Multhan rulers were styled as such and as such were recognized by the British Government</ins>. Multhan has one Thikana under it by name of Sandla with Sisodia Thakurs as its Jagirdars. On 13 October 1657, Multhan was founded as an independent [[jagir]] by the younger son of Maharaja Ratan Singh of [[Ratlam State]]. Multhan was later annexed by the Marathas of Dhar and became feudatories under [[Dhar State]]. The Chiefs are Rathor Rajputs and have the title of Thakur. During British Raj, the estate consisted of 29 villages in the [[Badnawar]] pargana. The chief, Thakur Bharat Singh, who was born in 1893 and succeeded on adoption in 1901, was the second son of H.H.
