&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Muktainagar taluka&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is a [[taluka]] in the [[Jalgaon district]] of Maharashtra, India. Its [[Muktainagar|eponymous town]] is its administrative headquarters. == History ==&lt;br /&gt;
During British rule the taluka was &amp;quot;Edlabad petha&amp;quot;;  in the 1950s the region was part of [[East Khandesh]] which was later renamed to Jalgaon district. The region was part of the Khandesh district, in 1906 British government divided it to form East Khandesh, West Khandesh district, Jalgaon and Dhule became their headquarters respectively. On 10 October 1960, East Khandesh renamed to Jalgaon district. == Geography ==&lt;br /&gt;
The taluka is located in the northern part of Maharashtra, and has an area of 638&amp;amp;nbsp;km&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;2&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt;. It is bordered by the [[Burhanpur district]] of the [[Madhya Pradesh]] state in the north and by the [[Bhusawal|Bhusawal taluka]] in west. The [[Purna River (tributary of Tapti)|Purna river]] flows through it and joins the [[Tapti River]] at [[Changdev, Jalgaon|Changdev]]. The north-east side of the taluka has large jungle areas where animals such as tigers, peacocks, wild boar and monkeys are local fauna. Muktainagar has three major population areas which are Anturli, Kurha and Muktainagar; the latter serves as its headquarters, as the highest populated town. [[Ghodasgaon, Jalgaon|Ghodasgaon]] and [[Hartala]] are two of the highest populated villages in the taluka. == Education facilities ==&lt;br /&gt;
[[G.G. Khadse college]] is a prominent science college of Muktainagar. Every village of the taluka has government operated primary schools. Ghodasgaon, Hartala and [[Ruikheda]] have  high schools.
