He ran for the seat of the [[Provincial Assembly of the Punjab]] as a candidate of [[Pakistan Muslim League (Q)]] (PML-Q) from [[Constituency PP-225 (Sahiwal-VI)]] in [[2002 Pakistani general election]] but was unsuccessful.
