In September 2004, the [[All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen]] party nominated Khan as their candidate for the Asif Nagar by elections instead of renominating Haji Seth. His video was viral on social media and made headlines in December 2020 during the Local Body Elections (GHMC) he said that in old city whether it is vigilance or any other governmental department cannot enter into the houses and check because of AIMIM is in power in the old city. &lt;br /&gt;
