Mohammad Haroon was born in [[Lahore]], [[Punjab, Pakistan|Punjab]], initially belonging a village, [[Alowal]], located in [[Toba Tek Singh District|District Toba Tek Singh]], into a military family; his father served in the [[Pakistan Army]], retiring as [[major]].
