&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Modhera&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is a village in [[Mehsana district]] of [[Gujarat]], India. The town is well known for the [[Sun Temple, Modhera|Sun Temple]] of [[Chaulukya dynasty|Chaulukya era]]. The town was known as Dharmaranya during Puranic age. It is believed that [[Rama]] had performed [[yagna]] here to cleanse the sin of killing Brahmin [[Ravana]]. There is Gyaneshwari stepwell in village which belongs to 16-17th century. Modhera will become the first &amp;quot;solar village&amp;quot; of India. The village will meet its complete electricity requirements by 6 [[megawatt|MW]] solar plant with 15 [[Megawatt hour|MWh]] [[Grid energy storage|battery energy storage system]] on {{convert|12|ha|sqkm}} land located {{convert|3|km|mile}} from the village. Total 271 houses out of 1600 houses in the village installed [[Rooftop photovoltaic power station|rooftop solar systems]].
