The ''Modern Review'' had a sister magazine ''[[Prabasi]]'', which was published in [[Bengali language|Bengali]] - ''Modern Review'' appeared in English. With a broadly nationalistic outlook, it did not follow the line of any particular political party. This meant that it could act as an all-India forum and that it stood apart from party journals concurrently run by the [[Indian National Congress]], the [[Communist Party of India|Communist]]s, the [[All-India Muslim League|Muslim League]], the [[Khaksar Tehrik]] [[Hindu Mahasabha]], and the [[Scheduled Castes Federation]]. Its only real competitor was the ''Indian Social Reformer''.<br />
