'''Mizo honorifics''' are a function of the [[Mizo language]]. As Mizo is a classifier language, it has honorifics for gender and numerals.{{sfn|Kumar|Lahiri|Saha|Shekhar|1 September 2011|p=4}}

''Pa'' is a honorific referring to father or male.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Mizo Structure: Structure of the language |url=http://lisindia.ciil.org/Mizo/Mizo_struct.html |access-date=2025-04-09 |website=Central Institute of Indian Languages}}</ref> ''Pa'' is used to denote masculinity. For example ''Zirtirtu-pa'' refers to a male teacher. ''Nu'' is the honorific for mother or femininity. For example ''Zirtirtu-nu'' refers to a female teacher.{{sfn|Kumar|Lahiri|Saha|Shekhar|1 September 2011|p=4}} Pa would also be used as a hypocorism, for taking on their child's name. In which case, the parent would gain an honorific. A famous example is [[Vana Pa]] (Father of Vana).<ref>{{Cite web |last=Vungliana |first=Mordekai V. |date=2017-06-22 |title=Vanapa hun hnuhnung leh than bihchianna |trans-title=Critical study of Vanapa's last days and tomb |url=https://www.vanglaini.org/article/73228?date=2017-06-22 |access-date=2025-04-06 |website=Vanglaini |language=Mizo}}</ref>

'''Pu''' is a Mizo honorific for men. The honorific for women is known as ''Pi''.{{sfn|Rajshekhar|2021|loc=Chapter 1:The State that could not pay salaries}} The compounded phrase ''pi leh pu'' itself refers to ancestors.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Lalneihliana |date=2017-10-05 |title=Kan hming phuah/ sak dan leh ziah dan hi |trans-title=Our systems of writing and creating names |url=https://www.vanglaini.org/article/80527?date=2017-10-05 |access-date=2025-04-09 |website=Vanglaini |language=Mizo}}</ref> The honorific can be used in variety of contexts. For example it can be appended as a form of respect towards elders or respected persons.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Chhangte |first=Lalnunthangi |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=qJ91NwAACAAJ |title=A Preliminary Grammar of the Mizo Language |date=1986 |publisher=University of Texas at Arlington |pages=80–83 |language=en |oclc=17473784}}</ref> The exception of this honorific is Pi Hmuaki, a poet whose name is synonymous with her honorific rather than Hmuaki.<ref>{{Cite journal |last1=Biswas |first1=Debajyoti |last2=Pramanik |first2=Pratyusha |last5=Senior Research Fellow; Department of Humanistic Studies, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, India |date=2022-06-07 |title=Resistance and Ungendering: Poetry of Mona Zote and Monalisa Changkija |url=https://rupkatha.com/v14n2ne08/ |journal=Rupkatha Journal on Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities |volume=14 |issue=2 |pages=1–12 |doi=10.21659/rupkatha.v14n2.ne08|url-access=subscription |doi-access=free }}</ref>
