She was the lead actress in the comedy flick ''Gulumal'', which turned out to be a superhit movie. She appeared as a supporting character in the Dileep-starrer ''Bodyguard'', again under Siddique's direction, which became another hit. Gaining critical acclaim for her performance as Sethulakshmi, she was selected by Siddique to reprise the role in its Tamil remake, ''[[Kaavalan]]'', as well.<ref name="Sathyendran"/> She went to act in a few more Tamil and Malayalam films which didn't earn much recognition.

[[Kerala State Road Transport Corporation|KSRTC]] officials filed a complaint against Mithra accusing her of assaulting and verbally abusing one of its staff.
