It also promoted equality as from now poor will be able to get basic needs.

==Components==
The programme includes the following components:<ref name=gom>{{cite web|last=Directorate of health services|title=National Minimum Needs Program|url=http://www.maha-arogya.gov.in/programs/nhp/minneeds/default.htm|publisher=Government of Maharashtra|accessdate=29 October 2012|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110131235116/http://www.maha-arogya.gov.in/programs/nhp/minneeds/default.htm|archivedate=31 January 2011}}</ref>
* the facilities under MNP are to be first provided in those areas which are at present underserved so as to remove disparities among different areas
* the facilities under MNP should be provided as a package to an area through intersectorial area projects to have a greater impact.it will provide good care to the poor people

==Objectives==

===Rural health===
The objectives to be achieved by the end of the [[Five-Year plans of India#Eighth Five-Year Plan (1992-1997)|Eighth Five Year Plan]]<ref name=8fyp>{{cite web|title=Eighth Five Year Plan|url=http://planningcommission.nic.in/plans/planrel/fiveyr/index9.html|publisher=Planning Commission of India|accessdate=29 October 2012|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120516023902/http://planningcommission.nic.in/plans/planrel/fiveyr/index9.html|archive-date=16 May 2012|url-status=dead}}</ref> are:
