The teaser and poster of the single was released by T-Series on its social handles on 7 April 2020. The video was directed by Adil Shaikh. It shows Malhotra and Sutaria enjoying in a hotel suite. The set is similar to ''[[Marjaavaan]]''.

It was released on 8 April 2020, and received over 15 million views in the first 24 hours of its release on YouTube. As of 25 May 2021, the single has received over 46 million views in YouTube, including the official video, lyrical video and audio song on the platform.

The song received highly negative reviews from the audience and the actors alike. Bagchi was severely criticized for remaking the song in a new way. There is a huge number of memes which shows negative response from the audience.
