The population of the village is about 35,000 and agriculture is the main occupation. The village has electricity and [[running water]]. The village is surrounded by canals though it has good water supply.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

The Panchayat election of 1994 bought this village to the limelight when four people were killed during an election. The Pehelwan took over as [[sarpanch]], and the village became battlefield as rival groups killed more than 200 people in the clashes which took place in later years.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

Since 2016 the Sarpanch of village is "Pehelwan Satpal", aka "Satpal Chitti", who is also the Head of All Haryana Sarpanch Association.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

The village has nine schools, including single-sex and co-educational.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

The inhabitants of Mandothi are called "Dalal" by [[Gotra]], and the village is also home to various other castes. Mandothi is one of the villages with the largest Dalal community.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

Mandothi had an airstrip which was built during the British rule.{{cn|date=June 2021}}

Because many wrestlers have been born in the village, it is also known as a "village of Wrestlers". They include are Chota Sonu Pehelwan, Kala Pehelwan, Karan singh Pehelwan, Nihala Pahlwan, Prithi Pehelwan, Ratankawar Pehelwan, and Surender Pehelwan Urf (Dhandha). Villagers support girls equally to boys and support them to perform in wrestling and other sports. Girls are trained for wrestling at Dada Budha Akhada.{{cn|date=June 2021}}
