Mahrukh Tarapor was born in Mumbai to a [[Parsi]] family, in 1946.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;Rolex Awards&amp;quot; /&amp;gt; She secured a doctorate from [[Harvard University]] and started her career by joining [[Metropolitan Museum, New York]], in 1983.
