== History ==
At the turn of the 20th century, Lawa Singhan Khera was described as a large village, "consisting of several scattered hamlets".<ref name="Gazetteer 1903"/> It had a small marked called Udhuganj, and it formed part of the [[Maurawan]] estate, having been granted to that family by the British in return for their services during the [[Indian Rebellion of 1857]].<ref name="Gazetteer 1903"/> Its population was 3,120 people and mostly consisted of [[Ahir]]s.<ref name="Gazetteer 1903"/>

The [[1961 Census of India|1961 census]] recorded Lawa Singan Khera (spelled as "Lapa Singhan Khera") as comprising 21 hamlets, with a total population of 4,065 (2,033 male and 2,032 female), in 715 households and 664 physical houses.<ref name="Census 1961">{{cite book |title=Census 1961: District Census Handbook, Uttar Pradesh (37 - Unnao District) |date=1965 |location=Lucknow |pages=cxiv-cxv of section "Purwa Tehsil" |url=http://lsi.gov.in:8081/jspui/bitstream/123456789/1040/1/21887_1961_UNN.pdf |access-date=11 July 2021}}</ref> The area of the village was given as 5,180 [[acre]]s.<ref name="Census 1961"/> It had a post office then.<ref name="Census 1961"/>
