== Biography ==
Lavanya Vemsani was born in [[Hyderabad]], India. She completed her [[Bachelor of Arts|B.A.]] in History, Politics, and Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archeology, from [[Osmania University]] in 1988. She received her [[Master of Arts|Masters of Arts]] degree in Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archeology, also from Osmania University in 1990.
In 1992, she earned her [[Master of Philosophy|M.Phil]] in History from the [[University of Hyderabad]] and her PhD in History in 1999 from the same university. She received her second [[Doctor of Philosophy|Ph.D]]. in Religious Studies from [[McMaster University]], Canada in 2004.
