==Political career==
In the [[2011 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election|2011 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections]], he contested from the [[Rasipuram (state assembly constituency)|Rasipuram]] seat on a BJP ticket but got only 1800 votes. He became Standing Counsel to Government of India at the Madras High Court in 2014. Since 2017, he has been vice-chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes. On 12 March 2020, he was made chief of the BJP Tamil Nadu unit.
