	KYS is an organization which was formed with an aim to organize the youth especially those from the exploited and oppressed sections on their issues which form the most pressing concerns of the society. It was consciously formed as a youth organization instead of just a students’ organization, as a large majority of our country's youth remains outside the sphere of higher education. On the education front, KYS has been taking up the issues related to equality in school education through implementation of common school system, the discriminatory nature of higher educational institutions as far as access to higher educational institutions is concerned, the increasing phenomenon of informal education both at the school level as well as in the higher education sector, etc. Apart from such issues related to equality in education, KYS has been at the forefront of struggles against the various ills which plague our society such as women's oppression, communalism, casteism, racism, etc. It aims to bring about equality in society through the destruction of capitalism and imperialism, and seeks to unite the various struggles against oppression and exploitation around the world through international solidarity.
