Maheswar Murmu of [[Communist Party of India (Marxist)|CPI(M)]] won the Keshiary assembly seat (ST) six times in a row from 1982 to 2006, defeating Shyam Charan Mandi of [[All India Trinamool Congress|Trinamool Congress]] in [[2006 West Bengal state assembly election|2006]] and 2001. Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Gouri Tudu of [[Indian National Congress|Congress]] in 1996, Rekha Kishu of Congress in 1991, Budhan Chandra Tudu of Congress in 1987 and 1982.
