The [[Yarlung Tsangpo]] enters India just south-east of the pass from where it is called the [[Brahmaputra River|Siang River]]. The pass is located at a distance of about 4 kilometers from [[Gelling (village)|Gelling]] under [[Tuting]] in the [[Upper Siang district]] of India's [[Arunachal Pradesh]]. On the Chinese side, it is located at a distance of 6 kilometers from Xirang Village (西让村), which falls under [[Beibeng Township]], [[Mêdog County]].
