== Education and career ==
Margry studied modern history at Utrecht University. From 1986 to 2022, he was the editor of ''After the Battle'', a British quarterly magazine covering the [[World War II|Second World War]]. Margry has written more than 100 articles for ''After the Battle'', covering military campaigns, the Third Reich, resistance movements, intelligence, the Holocaust and other aspects of the Second World War.

== Research ==

In 2016, he published "A False Start: The Filming at Theresienstadt of January 20, 1944" in the academic journal ''Apparatus''.
