He was the first and longest serving [[Panchayat]] president there. He was also a freedom fighter, a reformist and a landlord. He was a very good friend of [[R. Venkataraman]] (former President of India), Freedom Fighter Samuel Pillai (First Pattukkottai Union Chairman), [[K. Kamaraj]] (then [[List of Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu|Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu]]), and [[M. Bakthavatsalam]] (also Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu). He was a visionary and built the first modern bus stand for [[Pattukkottai]].<br /> <br /> He is survived by three sons K. Arumuga Thevar, K. Balakrishan Thevar, K.
