The Kamal Maula Mosque was erected by [[Alauddin Khalji]] in the early 14th century.<ref name="Eaton2019"/> The Kamal Maula Mosque drew influence from the [[Qutb Minar complex|Qutb Mosque]] in [[Delhi]] and in 1405, the Tughluq Indian emperor [[Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud Shah Tughluq]] erected the [[Dhar iron pillar]] in the centre of the nearby [[Lat Mosque]] to reflect this inspiration.<ref name="Eaton2019"/><br />
