John Scott was born on 24 April 1878 and is the eldest son of Canon John Scott of Hull, Leeds.&amp;lt;ref name=about2/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;ref name=about/&amp;gt; He married Mary Kathrine Adams, daughter of Francis Adams of Greswold, Worcestershire in 1905 and Mary died in 1941.&amp;lt;ref name=UKwho/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;ref name=about2/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
