Perumbalath is within the open catholic tradition and supports the ministry of women in the church at all levels. He is a member of the Society of Catholic Priests (SCP). He follows a Benedictine framework of spirituality. He acknowledges the influence of the Anglo-Catholic, Oriental Orthodox and evangelical traditions in shaping his theology.
