Following [[Partition of India|Indian independence]] from the UK in 1947, the Jat Regiment served in [[Indo-Pakistani War of 1947–1948]], the 1962 [[Sino-Indian War]], the conflicts with Pakistan in 1965 and 1971, and in Sri Lanka and [[Siachen]].
