J. Mohammed Imam was the son of J. Bade Saheb. He studied at the [[Central College of Bangalore]] and the [[Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai|Government Law College]] in [[Madras]]. J. Mohammed Imam was elected to the [[Lok Sabha]] (lower house of the [[parliament of India]]) in the [[1957 Indian general election|1957 general election]].
