The Act provides for the creation of a boards of governors, which would act as the principal executive body for each IIM, and would appoint one{{Nbsp}}director for each IIM, whose pay is {{INR}}225,000 in [[7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and Defence Forces|seventh pay commission]] but who is entitled to a variable pay.<ref name=":1" /><ref name=":2" /><ref name=":3" />
