From 1948 to 1957, he took to a new career as a diplomat. He was successively [[Ambassador]] to [[Iran]] (1948-1952), Ambassador to [[Turkey]] (1952-1953), [[High Commissioner (Commonwealth)|High Commissioner]] to India (1954-1956) and finally Ambassador to [[Italy]] (1956-1957).<ref name=findpk/>

==Death and legacy==
Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan died on 17 April, 1963.<ref name=storyofpakistan/><ref name=findpk/>
