It is a part of the [[Jagatballavpur (community development block)|Jagatballavpur]] block in the [[Howrah Sadar subdivision]] in the north-eastern part of [[Howrah district|Howrah]]. Garbalia is 30 km from the state's capital, [[Kolkata]].
