The school is named after [[Father (title)|Fr.]] [[Agnelo de Souza]] (1869 - 1927), a [[Roman Catholic]] priest of the [[Society of the Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier, Pilar]] who performed missionary work in [[Goa]].
