==Critical response==<br />
NDTV rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, and said "Fireflies is an imperfect film about flawed characters who disguise their spiritual ennui in tailored postures of sophistication. It's not a great film. But it's sincere and a largely well-crafted piece of cinema about fractured lives frozen in compromised relationships".<ref>{{cite web|url=http://movies.ndtv.com/movie-reviews/fireflies-movie-review-1040|title=Fireflies Movie Review|work=NDTVMovies.com|date=30 October 2014|accessdate=18 December 2014|last=Jha|first=Subhash K}}</ref> Indian Express rated the film 1.5 out of 5 stars.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/movie-review/fireflies-movie-review/|title=Fireflies movie review|work=The Indian Express|accessdate=18 December 2014|last=Gupta|first=Shubhra|date=31 October 2014|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141210214445/http://indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/movie-review/fireflies-movie-review/|archivedate=10 December 2014|url-status=live}}</ref> Sweta Kaushal of Hindustan Times gave the film 1.5 out of 5 stars taking on originality, said that "The well-meaning plot of Fireflies is totally wasted for a singular lack of imagination and the over-dependence on stereotypes. Skip this one, unless you are looking for a depressing movie that only confirms to all norms of cliches in the name of an Indie film".<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/reviews/fireflies-review-spare-yourself-the-stereotypes-and-cliches-this-week/article1-1281266.aspx|title=Fireflies review: Spare yourself the stereotypes and cliches this week|last=Kaushal|first=Sweta|work=hindustantimes.com/|accessdate=18 December 2014|date=1 November 2014|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141113154046/http://www.hindustantimes.com/entertainment/reviews/fireflies-review-spare-yourself-the-stereotypes-and-cliches-this-week/article1-1281266.aspx|archivedate=13 November 2014|url-status=dead}}</ref> Renuka Vyavahare of The Times of India gave the film 2.1 out of 5 stars.<br />
