Dvija Madhab was born in [[Saptagram]]-[[Tribeni, Hooghly|Tribeni]] region of modern-day [[Hooghly district]] of [[India]]n state of [[West Bengal]].<ref name = bsiII/> His father Parashar, as mentioned in the ''Sarada Charit'', was a [[Brahmin]].<ref name = bsiII/> Dvija Madhab is also attributed as the author of ''Sri Krishna Mangal'', another narrative poem popular among the [[Vaishnava]]s; but its authorship is doubted by scholars.<ref name = parthachatterjee/>
