Dilraj married Veerpal Kaur in 1994. Dilraj's deceased brother, Balraj Singh Bhunder was previously an important political figure for the [[Shiromani Akali Dal]] party.

== Political career ==
From 2008 to 2012, Dilraj became the [[District Councils of India|Zila Parishad]] [[Chairman]], [[Mansa district, Punjab|Mansa]]. From 2012 to 2017, he was the [[Vice President]] of the Youth Wing for the [[Shiromani Akali Dal]] party. Dilraj was elected as a member of the [[Punjab Legislative Assembly]] or the [[Punjab Vidhan Sabha]] from Sardulgarh, [[Mansa district, Punjab|Mansa District]], [[Punjab, India|Punjab]], [[India]].
