It&amp;#039;s alleged that when the [[Indian Peace Keeping Force]] occupied northern Sri Lanka in the late 1980s, the [[Eelam People&amp;#039;s Revolutionary Liberation Front]] (EPRLF), an Indian-backed Tamil militant group, arrested and tortured Daya Master for supporting the LTTE.&amp;lt;ref name=AT160706/&amp;gt; It&amp;#039;s alleged that Daya Master only survived death due to the pity shown by EPRLF commander Sugi.&amp;lt;ref name=AT160706/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
