Chitranjan Swaroop was born in [[Muzaffarnagar district]], Uttar Pradesh. Swaroop was a [[Graduate school|graduate]]. Before being elected as [[Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|MLA]], he used to work as an [[agriculturist]].<ref name=" Member Profile "/>

Chitranjan Swaroop was a [[Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|MLA]] for three terms. During all three terms, he represented the [[Muzaffarnagar (Assembly constituency)|Muzaffarnagar]] constituency. Swaroop was earlier a member of the [[Indian National Congress]] party and in 1974 (his first term in office) he was a member of the [[Indian National Congress]].<ref name=" Member Profile"/>
