			The Sikhs arrived at Rahon, hastily built a fortress, and issued threatening orders to the revenue payers and revenue officers for their submission. Shamas Khan and his army reached Rahon, surrounded the fort from all sides to attack the Sikhs, while the Sikhs responded with cannon attacks. Shamas Khan stopped the pursuit only after a few miles as he assumed a reinforcement by Banda Singh could arrive. 			After the victory and capture, the Sikhs reappointed their officers.{{sfn\|Sagoo\|2001\|p=178}} Due to threatening orders, the [[Chowdhury\|chaudhries]], [[Muqaddam\|muqaddams]], [[Dahsala_system#Qanungo\|qanungos]] and [[Pargana\|parganas]] surrendered. Banda Singh Bahadur captured almost half Punjab East of Lahore. Local chieftains were Ghorewha Rajpoots who fought Banda Singh and remained influential in [[Rahon]] henceforth. He became the master of a small region in Eastern Punjab from river [[Indus]] to [[Satluj]]. In 1710, Bahadur advanced to [[Jalandhar]], where on his way, he was attacked by local ruler, Shams Khan. Bahadur immediately captured his fort when Khan went to [[Sultanpur, Jhelum|Sultanpur]].
