==Etymology==
Bannimantap is derived from the word ''banni mara'' which means ''Prosopis cineraria'' tree in [[Kannada]] language. Whereas Mantapa or mandapa in the Indian architecture means outdoor hall or pavilion for the public rituals.{{citation needed|date=January 2018}}
