Murty" /> After serving as a Nuffield University Professional Fellow at [[Cambridge University]] during 1973–74, he joined [[International Atomic Energy Agency]] in 1974 where he worked till 1986, holding the position of the project director of the Nuclear Research Laboratory from 1974 to 1984. Murty was the pioneer of [[biometrical genetics]] at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute when he started his research on the subject in 1961 during his stint at their Delhi campus.<ref name="Indian fellow - B.
