== Personal life ==
Born in [[Bajpe]] in May 1938, Mohiddin joined Congress in 1969 and held various positions in the party before getting elected to the [[Karnataka Legislative Assembly]] in 1978, running from the [[Bantwal]] Assembly constituency in the [[Dakshina Kannada]] district. After that, he was denied a party ticket to contest subsequent elections. Consequently, he joined the [[Janata Dal]] party.
