He debuted in the first Manipuri film &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Matamgi Manipur]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039; as an actor. In 1974, he directed his first movie &amp;#039;&amp;#039;[[Lamja Parshuram]]&amp;#039;&amp;#039;. It became the first Manipuri film to run for 100 days in the box office.
