* 11 November 2002: Established as the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar from the [[Diocese of Ahmedabad]]. Bishop Stanislaus Fernandes, SJ, was named Archbishop. The territory of the new Archdiocese then comprised the districts of Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan, Banaskantha and Sabarkantha.<br />
