The party was founded by [[V. K. Sassikala]] and [[T. T. V. Dhinakaran]] in [[Madurai]] on 15 March 2018 as a breakaway faction of the [[All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam]] [[V. K. Sassikala]] and T. T. V.
