Manda ran for the seat of the [[Provincial Assembly of the Punjab]] as a candidate of [[Islami Jamhoori Ittehad]] (IJI) from Constituency PP-135 (Sheikhupura-II) in [[1988 Pakistani general election]] but was unsuccessful.
