An &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;{{IAST|abhidhāna}}&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; ({{lang-sa|अभिधान}}, {{IPA-sa|ɐbʱɪdʱaːnɐ|IPA}}) is a kind of [[dictionary]] or [[vocabulary]] of [[Sanskrit language|Sanskrit]]. Its purpose was to be used as a general guide for [[lexicography]] and word choice. Many of these works had been created in India.
